The musical director of the Liverpool Show Choir is Ros Jones.
Ros Jones studied at the Royal College of Music and, as a postgraduate accompanist at the Guildhall. In addition to her orchestral and recital work, Ros works extensively in Musical Theatre. She has conducted shows in the West End including The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, La Cage aux Folles, The Sound of Music, Sunday in the Park with George, The Woman in White and Bombay Dreams and has played keyboards on shows, both in the West End and on tour including Funny Girl, Billy Elliot, Wicked, Oliver, The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon. Ros was the original Children’s Musical Director for both Matilda (RSC) and The Sound of Music (London Palladium) and has worked as a Répétiteur for English National Opera. Now based in Liverpool, Ros is a regular Musical Director at LIPA, leading productions including Urinetown, Stop The World I Want To Get Off, The Witches of Eastwick and Company and she was the Musical Director for the 20th Anniversary Concert Tour of RENT. Ros is a visiting Lecturer in Musical Theatre at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and also teaches at the Hammond School, Chester and the Liverpool Theatre School. She enjoys playing orchestral keyboard with the RLPO, but her favourite night of the week is a Wednesday, as that’s Liverpool Show Choir rehearsal night!
