About

Liverpool Show Choir

The Liverpool Show Choir is a small, but mighty Ladies’ community choir which has been running for five years. It was set up as the sister choir to the Manchester Show Choir, and we simply enjoy singing and making music altogether in a friendly and easy-going atmosphere.

To date, we have performed with Queen legend Brian May in a selection of Queen Songs as part of his ‘Born Free‘ tour with Kerry Ellis, and at the Liverpool Empire with Susan Boyle, as part of her tour ‘Susan Boyle in concert.’ We have also appeared at the Philharmonic Hall with Richard and Adam, and we were featured as the backing choir in the ‘West End Women’ national tour of 2014 starring Kerry Ellis, Ria Jones and Joanna Ampil. The LSC has given concerts at the Anglican Cathedral, Everyman Theatre, Walker Art Gallery, The Palm House, The Cavern Club, Liverpool Parish Church, and has performed at LightNight Liverpool in both 2016 and 2017. This year the choir has sung as part of Mr Kite’s Musicircus to celebrate Sgt Pepper at 50, and at Event City with The Ideal Home Show at Christmas. We also won our first award in 2017. The Liverpool Show Choir were the proud winners of the ‘give it some welly’ cup at the inaugural St Bride’s Choir Festival in July!

We rehearse every Wednesday at the Holiday Inn, opposite Lime Street Station and our repertoire ranges from Musical Theatre, Beatles’ songs to Pop, Gospel and Folk. Our Musical Director is Ros Jones, who before moving to Liverpool four years ago worked extensively in the West End on numerous shows including ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Matilda’, ‘The Woman in White’ and ‘Bombay Dreams.
